Steve Martin is no Tutankhamun...

I have been meaning to blog this episode for a while now, so today I will take the time because it is worth preserving.

Some time ago my dear academic husband thought the girls would enjoy Steve Martin's take on King Tut's biography. So, the girls gathered around YouTube and watched the silliness. If you haven't seen this, take a moment...(sorry, if there is a commercial)

Conveniently, the girls and I embarked on our own study of King Tut last month. We spent a couple of weeks learning about him. Every day we sat down to study, Percy-Kate would say "Mommy, can we watch the King Tut song?" Every day I would say no. Instead, we watched videos of King Tut's tomb and interviews with archaeologists, we checked out books from the library,... All the while it was clear to me the entire time that Percy-Kate simply preferred Steve Martin's telling of King Tut's life. My fear is that she'll confuse the two accounts. Does she believe King Tut was really born in Arizona? I am afraid to ask. If only Mr. Martin sang diddies about division or multiplication...my job would be much easier.
